Łukasz Byśkiniewicz and Daniel Siatkowski Finish the Orlen Oil 81st Rally Poland in High Spirits
TVN TURBO Rally Team’s Łukasz Byśkiniewicz and Daniel Siatkowski crossed the finish line of the Orlen Oil 81st Rally Poland in great spirits, securing 5th place in the Polish Rally Championship (RSMP) and 13th overall in the FIA ERC European Championship standings.
When it comes to valuable RSMP points, Byśkiniewicz and Siatkowski earned 19 championship points for 4th place, as one crew ahead of them is not competing in the full RSMP season. Rally Poland – the second-oldest rally in the world – took place under beautiful, sunny skies. The teams delivered plenty of excitement and spectacular moments, soaring over jumps and drifting through gravel corners.
Łukasz Byśkiniewicz:
“If you treat this rally as an adventure and pure driving pleasure, it’s my number one. Rally Poland has a unique atmosphere thanks to its stunning surroundings and gravel special stages. Considering we’ve had a two-year break from gravel, we’re happy with our result – 5th place in the RSMP. The European Championship crews really showed us how fast you can go on loose surfaces. But to drive that fast, you need to compete regularly in gravel rallies. The stages of Rally Poland were very fast. On the smoother sections, driving was great fun. Things got tougher on the second runs, especially where ruts had formed. In those spots, we lacked the experience and confidence to trust the ruts would ‘hold’ the car. I really hope next year’s RSMP calendar includes more gravel rallies. A huge thank you to our Partners for another great rally together.”
Daniel Siatkowski:
“After two years, we returned to gravel – and we’re very happy we could compete in Rally Poland. We’re especially glad we reached the finish, because this was a very fast and difficult event. There were lots of traps that caught out several crews, and not everyone made it to the end. Our top priority was to finish and collect valuable points. We stuck to the plan and didn’t make any mistakes. The ERC drivers showed incredible pace, but it’s no surprise – they’re constantly racing and have the advantage of youth and experience. After this week, we’re a bit tired, as it was a very long rally week, but it’s a good kind of tired.”
